    Pope had a couple of dismal seasons by Kentucky standards. Lots of hype around his hiring. Kentucky basketball has long been the crown jewel. The number 2 class is expected, if not number 1. If Stein flops after his first two seasons in a similar way, it will elicit a similar response from fans.

    I say he looks at it as college is similar to coaching pros now that college players are paid. Might as well skip the NIL drama and coach a professional team. At least the players are under contract.

    Makes sense that May turned them down for sure. He’s a hero at Michigan and will continue to do well there. Lloyd…..why leave Arizona for NC? McCollum is a hero at Iowa too. Contracts for coaches need to be 3 years or less in the NIL era.

    In hindsight it's crazy how bad Mitch botched the last coaching search

    I have to believe we don’t know the true details of any of it, including who was on the list. Even though I know Barnhart hasn’t been the best, I can’t wrap my head around how one could be so inept at that level. It’s not as if it’s his first search.
