One thing everyone, especially the VHSL needs to think about is the NFHS Network. The farther you make people have to drive to see a game the more attractive staying home and watching online becomes.
I agree it's not cost effective to play in big stadiums with crowds that don't half fill...
I wasn't complaining about anything. I was just pointing out that there was a time when there were 3 state championships which the post I responded to said was never the case. I have no problem with the way things are.
Not true. When the VHSL first went to A, AA, and AAA in the 1970-71 school year there were three championships one at each level. Two championships didn't start until sometime in the 80s.
Instead of going to King George if they can't host themselves, they should play at Westmoreland. Westmoreland has a nice new stadium that's only a couple of years old that they would pass on the way to King George. Westmoreland is a short trip to a familiar stadium for the folks in Richmond...
I also can't think of any reason why anyone on a chain crew would need a microphone. Being on a chain crew is a good time, isn't it? Great view, sometimes too good!
