There is no amount of NIL that will fix Schiano

RU lost to UMass and BC, two programs that are spending less in NIL than RU. Throw in that RU is in a better conference and that is all you need to know if throwing more NIL money at Schiano will fix this. The answer is clearly an emphatic "NO". Rutgers would be 4-3, hosting 4-3 Michigan on...

There is no amount of NIL that will fix Schiano

Rutgers Al doesn't know enough about football to post a critical analysis. It is the reason I never open any threads the narcissist starts because it will be a waste of time.

    OT: R.I.P. Coach June Jones

RIP. I remember him with the Falcons as an OC under Glanville as well as his head coaching days here. He also had a lot of success at Hawaii.

Michigan is the Point of No Return

This is probably about right, although you may have understated the point total. Michigan has scored 20 or more points only twice this year, a 52-17 win over UTEP (#111 in Total Defense, #134 Scoring Defense) and a 21-18 win over Penn State (#28 in Total Defense, #28 Scoring Defense). Rutgers...

    Free tickets Michigan

Agreed. Both programs were borderline B1G programs as well. RU was 15-11 in the last two seasons of a conference that was a BCS Conference in name only while Maryland was 13-24 in their last 3 seasons in the ACC.

    COACHING MATTERS!!

There was an emotional factor as well. BYU beats Notre Dame in Provo when ESPN Game Day is there, which generated a lot of excitement around the BYU program. Next week they travel to Orlando after a huge win and they have a let down and lose. This is something that isn't uncommon in college...

RU-Northwestern game Saturday available only on Peacock ?

This is the middle of 3 straight Northwestern games on Peacock. Last week at Michigan State, this week vs Rutgers, then next week at Oregon. Apparently Peacocks love Northwestern.

    USC, Indy, NW

Sorry, but your spin was undeniable. This wasn't a 10U game at the local high school, where you encourage and compliment a youth player about his effort and not quitting in the face of adversity. Coaches are paid millions. Every player is on scholarship and some are making huge NIL dollars...

    USC, Indy, NW

I wish I was optimistic enough to view this as "half empty". You are spinning "not quitting when only trailing by 10 points at halftime" as a positive. A 10 point halftime deficit is not a deep hole to climb out of. Texas trailed Ohio State 20-3 at halftime this year and Wisconsin trailed at...

    USC, Indy, NW

There has been plenty of coaches who have said, "The most meaningless statistic in football / college sports is the halftime score". Most recently by Bob Chesney, but the idea has been conveyed by Dan Reeves and Gene Stallings as well. Football fans will worship their coach if he makes...

    USC, Indy, NW

And yet, Maryland was literally inches away from tying the game with 16 seconds remaining after leading by 14 with 4:00 remaining. I would make the point that Maryland lost the game as opposed to Rutgers winning it.

Football Report: College Football Playoff nearing deal to expand to 24 teams

Really? I'm pretty sure that #4 Notre Dame, #5 Georgia, and #6 Indiana would still be in the running for the BCS Championship Game with half the season remaining and #13 Alabama is still very much alive in the 12-team playoff. What you (and many "experts") are missing is that this can create a...

Guess the time of the Rutgers vs Michigan game on October 31st?

4:00 Big Ten Network following Illinois at Maryland would be my guess.

    Prediction: RU at MD

Rutgers 34, Maryland 31 While the score makes it seem like it was a good game, it will stress both fan bases. "Holy Cow! Big play! We may win this game! (later) Ohh crap. Figures."

OT: James Madison joining the American

Georgia State makes a little more sense in my opinion. The student body is more than twice the size of App State (56K -- 21.5K), Neither school has an existing rivalry with either ECU or Charlotte, but both have Georgia Southern as a rival. GSU is located in Downtown Atlanta vs Boone, NC...
