Obviously Northwestern is always loaded but Hendersonville has really good skill players last year and most are back. A Shelby/Hendersonville playoff matchup would be very interesting.
Shelby is still the team to beat until someone knocks them out. Their defense will be really strong. We should be good but it’ll take a little luck to beat them.
I remember watching Spade at Bandys. He’s a couple years younger than me, sometime around when they had Harper and Woodlief. Spade was fun to watch. No idea what he did after high school. Bandys had a lot of good athletes in the early 2000s.
Good luck to Maiden and NL girls. I think Maiden will win and I think NL is 50/50. I saw SE Alamance last year. They were really good and had no seniors. Will be a much tougher game than last night was for North. If NL wins they could go back-to-back next year.
I’ve seen Salisbury play a couple times and they aren’t as good as the last couple years. But they have a good guard who can score and they will play solid defense. I think Reidsville will win by 10-15.
No idea if it’s true or not but I heard the ineligible player didn’t play in all the games that are listed as forfeits on maxpreps. Maybe they’ll get some of those wins back. If they get in as a low seed it’s gonna suck for whoever draws them first round.
I think he wanted to go somewhere that was committed to basketball year-round like he is (24/7 gym and weight room access and teammates with similar goals). And unfortunately Lincolnton wasn’t that. I hate he left but it was probably best for his development. He is a great young man.
