I would agree somewhat on Penn State. Michigan, not so much. The talent and coaching gap between RU and Michigan is significant. Willingham is a big time coach. He's a big upgrade over Coach Grab@ss.
Also an inflection point in the direction of the program. If they win that game, RU goes to the Orange Bowl. That probably buys him a few more years. The Ash era (error) is avoided. Maybe we don't get Schiano 2.0.
This is all true, but if he can't win 5 games in conference when the schedule includes floundering programs like Michigan State, Northwestern, Maryland, Nebraska, and Wisconsin, what are we doing?
Sounds like 2024 all over again. I'd be surprised if he got fired this year, though. That said, he needs to at least produce a winning record in conference.
