    Senior World Team Trials

Hayden Zilmer is another one. He made a team as a heavyweight after training as 96 kilo guy for years. He was from Minnesota, I believe. He is still competing, but will not make a team this year either.

    Senior World Team Trials

Making a team is a great goal, but some of these guys just compete because they love it and some do it because they do not know what else to do or are afraid to walk away and start the next chapter in their lives. I am not sure where AD is on that list, but if he wants to keep competing, then...

RECAP: Iowa wrestlers win four golds, one silver at hometown Pan-Am Championships

Who would have ever thought that the people in South America could not even spell the name of their own country correctly?

STORY: Iowa adds 2x JUCO All-American heavyweight to men's 2026 recruiting class

I guess when you are a returning and the team says you are no longer on the team and then you go to a school and place 6th and they release you, most coaches can see the pattern. It would be a sad story but the guy has done things that most of us never dream of doing (I am referring to the...

STORY: Iowa adds 2x JUCO All-American heavyweight to men's 2026 recruiting class

I was happy to see that for him As a side note, has anyone picked him up for next year?

    157 next year

I find it interesting that Iowa (TnT) has been accused of raiding other teams and violating portal rules and contacting people from other teams for a few years now and then they seem to be upset that someone else tried to take some of their guys with them to another team. Of course, I am...

    Other notable results and news

Why does that make sense? Who says the 3rd place wrestler is not better than the 2nd place wrestler. He just got put on the wrong side of the bracket. And if he does better (scores more team points) than the 2nd place guy due to pins and techs, then he should be rewarded.

    Spencer 2026 World Team

That is how you beat SL. Keep it close in the first period and then score and win in the second. He can blow you out early, but if he doesn't is in trouble - against elite wrestlers.

If Spencer has any interest in coaching

I think every wrestler that strives to be an Olympic Champion has a "me me me first" attitude. I think it is a necessity. I do not think Spencer would be a coach anywhere near the likes of Cael or Gable or even TnT. I think he would be more of a Kolat type coach with that type of success -...

POTUS executive order -- 5 total years + 1 transfer limit starting Aug 1?

The number of people that would affect adversely is minimal compared to the way the system is being gamed now. If we were to make a law so no one was adversely affected, we would really have a mess.

President to Sign Executive Order on College Sports - Changing transfer and redshirt rules

10 years old? I might punch myself in the face for asking.

POTUS executive order -- 5 total years + 1 transfer limit starting Aug 1?

Even if they do not put a damper on the dollars, at least make kids lose a year of eligibility for each time they transfer. 1 transfer loses a year and second transfer loses 2 years. That would stop he crazy bidding wars. (I cannot believe that the NCAA is unable to police this in a...

President to Sign Executive Order on College Sports - Changing transfer and redshirt rules

I get your post and I really enjoy reading them. I would say the difference is that athletics has reached a point where if it is allowed to continue in the way it is going, it could destroy a lot of things. Mid majors are taking a beating and that is not the intent of college athletics. Lets...

President to Sign Executive Order on College Sports - Changing transfer and redshirt rules

We could also argue that the athletes are taking advantage of a system that was designed to make them well rounded people by providing athletic opportunities while getting a college degree. We have come so far from the intended of sports in college and the college experience that it is hard to...
