    That play is a terrific example of how video replay can affect a game. In the first clip, it seemed absolutely clear that a punch was thrown. When they showed it from a different angle, it was absolutely clear that it wasn't.

    First of all, congratulations on the Florida win last night. Hawks clearly deserved to win. Second, if I was forced to bet on who comes out of Houston, I'd vote for Houston -- although they are probably the only team in the tournament that doesn't get a huge boost by playing at home.

    Another point that I think is very important to the fans' perception: The fans have a much, much, MUCH clearer view of the game in basketball than in football. A foul that seems obvious when it happens just a few feet in front of you is a lot different than a hold you see from 80 yards away.

    ISU played poorly in every phase of the game yesterday, and didn't deserve to win, but one comment I keep hearing that I'd like to address is doubling Crooks. That usually won't work because ISU has several good outside shooters. Yesterday they couldn't throw the ball into the ocean.

    First, the secondary has been devastated by injuries. But I think perhaps a more logical opinion is that in addition to the injured players, a whole bunch of players are likely to either follow Campbell or enter the portal.

    That's two games in a row when the fans rushed the field after upsetting ISU. I am confident in saying that has never happened before.

    I attended that game. The tackler was an Oklahoma State offensive lineman. Buddy Hardeman was awarded a TD on the play.

    My bad. I'm so old I remember when UI athletics was self-supporting. But if you can get a loan for 2.5%, by all means do it.

    Not going to get into the repetitive adolescent bickering, but I'm wondering where you got the idea ISU was using state funds. It was Iowa, not Iowa State, the borrowed $50 million in order to cope with covid ..... and hasn't paid any of it back yet, as far as I know.

    If I were a Hawkeye fan, the message I'd get from the financial comparison would be that I'm not getting enough for my money.

    What does ISU have waiting for the hawks for the 2nd game?

    That's common, and I've never understood it. It's one thing when a Hawk fan downgrades the ISU campus or otherwise shows an ignorance of the instittution. It's quite another to criticize Iowa because it has a lot of fans who aren't rooting just because they went there.
