Which 5 ex UK players that you saw play at UK, in your opinion has had the best professional careers?

Dan Issel and Louie Dampier were born 50 years too early. They would have been perfect for today's NBA with the way they could shoot.

    Is it close or not

Honestly, the system Pope uses doesn’t require future NBA players to be successful. The screening and cutting gets guys open for good shots. His system depends on good shooters more than ultra athletes. And he will get much better talent than he did at BYU. We are more about great college...

Give me 1978 against any of them.

Season you've most looked forward to and/or excited about?

One of the biggest "What ifs" in Kentucky history

Season you've most looked forward to and/or excited about?

It's 1978 for me also after the Dean Smith cussing Rick Robey, running out on the floor, 4 corners crap to end the 77 season. And THANK YOU for believing like me that 78 could handle 96.

    Work

When Kentucky lost to Louisville in the original Dream Game, 83 NCAA regional finals, I went to one of our barns that had an 8 1/2 ft goal on the loft door. I was so frustrated that I just dunked, and dunked, and dunked so violently that I nearly ripped the door off of the hinges. That was a...

Pray for Hometown of Springfield (Washington Co)

It’s been weird that’s for sure. I had my pool opened up the first week of May and the water has been too cold to enjoy it. It’s been an unusually cold spring. I haven’t even been able to cut any hay yet and I just got my corn planted Saturday. The ground is really saturated.

Kentucky has had it rough for a few years now

SEC ups fine for court/field storming to $500,000.

The only time Kentucky has to worry is if we do something in football. We don’t do that in basketball because we expect to win no matter who we play.

May 22, 1975 KY Colonels win ABA Championship

Huge Brown said the 75 Colonels was one of the, if not the, best pro teams he ever saw. Could you just imagine them going up against the Celtics, Lakers, and 76ers in the early 80s? What a great time that would have been for the state.

Pope's comment about every incoming player

The great thing about Pope is that we don't ever have to worry about him flirting with NBA jobs, much less with other schools. With Pitino there were always NBA rumors at the end of every season and with Cal it was NBA and some schools (UCLA) early on but with Pope Kentucky is truly the best...

Yes. You should read the book “Loose Balls”. It’s a great book about the ABA and has a lot of interesting stories in it.

    Pope on Perry's departure

You said he played for his dad so that might be the answer. I've saw plenty of kids that were coached by dad but when they went to the next level they got a rude awakening, whether that was from middle school to high school or high school to college. Dad makes his kid a star by setting him up to...

    OT: Storm Checkin

My wife's boss lives in London and shared a very similar story. His neighborhood was hit, his next door neighbors' bodies were found in their back yard and another body was in a tree across the road. His wife is suffering PTSD from it. It's been a crazy spring in Kentucky. I have had at least 11...
