This is a great point. And this seems to be something that could be addressed by coaches during practice. Additionally our offensive line seems to always be on their heels and surprised by whatever the defensive line or blitz is doing. Every game every time.
Explosive plays basically means you were 50-50 against another good team and it gives you a shot at losing to bad teams when your explosive plays don’t work. That’s what we’ve seen again and again. And it’s the reason for the lack of focus on offensive line development.
O line development continues to be sub-par. Year after year. Hackenberg had PTSD. Trace and Barkley were constantly under attack in the backfield. For years it has been “second and twelve” as the norm. A total joke from bottom to top.
