    I seem to remember it took Lee about a week of spring practice last year to be promoted to Carroll's backup. Lee's one week of practice > Real Deal's year and a half in the program. No way Tyler Russell is redshirted.

    I just noticed where Gerald West signed with Southern Miss. He had been committed to Alabama since the summer. The explanation he gave was that Southern was "closer." I had heard he had grade issues, but supposedly UA is loaded in the secondary and that may have factored in his decision as well...
