    Yep, that's what I've heard as well. Because Bird's AD left so late in the year and then Bedwell got the job, it was a choice between doing a quick search with limited candidates or getting Nicely to agree to be interim HC for this year. I don't think he has any interest in the position long-term.

    Dale vs Bird

    Was baffled by the decision to try a FG on 4th and goal from the 4, especially given the conditions. Go for the TD, and even if you're stopped short Dale gets the ball on the 4 instead of getting it on the 20 after a missed FG.

    Bedwell's first season was 2000. Bird finished second in the district that year but still made the playoffs. Last time they weren't in was '98.
