The win at Temple was completely unexpected. Temple hadn't lost at home all year. True about most of Tulsa's wins. TU is playing better. But, obviously, not where the program should be.
It is nice to see TU finally playing some good basketball. Wish I could've seen more of Dwon Odom. Think how good he would be surrounded by a NCAA tourney caliber team?
It's so obvious Venables ain't it. What a colossal mistake by OU. It will be felt for years. Think Gary Gibbs.
The new conference isn't the real reason for OU's decline. 6-7 in both conferences, including 6 conference losses both of those years. The SEC will make it harder to rebound. Might...
Tulsa just doesn't make enough plays at the end of games. It has been that way most of the season. Konkol called out his team for poor 2nd half defense. Would be difficult to play worse defense than TU did in the 2nd half.
Having Garcia back helps a lot. He ran out of gas in the 2nd half, as could be expected, but what a 1st half with 11 points. Odom was terrific down the stretch.
All effective leaders make tough decisions when they take over. Who stays, who goes. It was good to talk with Lamb after the televised press conference. Very impressed.
On a fun note, Lamb says he's a scratch golfer. Didn't pick up golf til later in his young life.
