Ncaa president "the goal is to have 72 to 76 teams by 2026 in the ncaa tournament "

There are more teams in D1 basketball than the past but I still don't like expansion. It's just going to further reward the power conferences and mid-major teams that might show promise will be routed/not get a chance at these bids. The NCAA is going to kill the concept when they eventually...

    Academic probation

I imagine if someone tried to sit someone for this they would sue because their "right to earn" was being violated, which the courts have held is violating a player's core rights.

Zakai Zeigler sues NCAA, seeking another year of eligibility.

The other thing is that if a court hands down a ruling in favor of killing the "4 in 5" rule then you would have to think that gums up the works for younger players trying to get to Division 1 or elsewhere. That is just going to create a cascade of bad effects. But I'm almost to the point...

Zakai Zeigler sues NCAA, seeking another year of eligibility.

I will keep saying this but when unlimited eligibility comes - and it will - it will destroy college athletics for good.

    NBA Playoffs

Will always like Julius Randle. Aaron Harrison hit the clutch 3's but Randle was the engine of that 2014 run, hitting a lot of clutch free throws throughout those games.

Unlimited amount of years in College?

Endless eligibility will kill college athletics for good, especially in terms of fan interest. But I can see it coming soon. Not to mention, where are a lot of young players supposed to go?

UConn vs South Carolina Women’s Championship

And their one title came in OT on a controversial call.

UConn vs South Carolina Women’s Championship

I've read where ratings were down from last year, which is no surprise. Not sure how much of a drop it has been, though.

UConn vs South Carolina Women’s Championship

I don't watch women's ball all that much but I read where UConn didn't even get fully healthy until February and that's basically made them the top team regardless of how this bracket was seeded.

Imagine Sampson at IU the past two decades…

Again, people have to remember that Sampson got a "show cause" penalty. Indiana basically HAD to fire him under the old rules because if they'd committed any other violations while keeping him then it could've led to much worse. This was before UNC's academic fraud scandal just revealed that...

Florida or Houston, who do you prefer

I'm all-in on Houston. Sampson is a damn good coach that deserves a title on his resume. He's built that program from irrelevance to something important again and is one of the reasons Houston is in the Big 12. Plus, Houston getting a title would erase some of their heartbreak in the 1980s...

Yeah, I'm rooting for Houston. That program has to been to 2 title games before and lost them both in the 1980s. Time for them to avenge Phi Slamma Jamma.

    Saturday Final Four Thread

Houston has had several games like this during the year when they were left for dead and then kicked it up a notch and overcame the odds. I recall best their game with Kansas early this year when they were down by like 6 points with less than 6 seconds to go, ended up tying it, and then winning...

Man, I REALLY wish I'd bet Houston. Sampson was out for revenge in this game.

Indiana could have been a problem

Show cause penalty allies go further than that and you risked even more if further violations happened after the ruling. It's not that simple.
