It's not like he has no talent or interest from other teams, but it seems like a reach when you already have two top 100-ish safeties. That quote explains why he is take for them. Say what you want about Rhule, but he takes care of his friends.
I don't know why I follow the recruiting all...
Definitely agree, but after left tackle it's probably the hardest position to recruit high end talent. We haven't had anybody since Gregory so it's hard to even remember what it's like have a elite pass rusher!
Safety, corner, quarterback, offensive line, and even running back looks good to really good on paper. WR, TE, LB, and DL is another story, although I know some really like the DL class so far. Most of the DL were not very highly recruited.
No, I haven't watched any highlights on the Green kid. I was going by his offer list (couldn't care less about stars), which isn't very good. In the Big Ten you need to be able to stop the run, and we were awful at it last year. 6'2" 220 is probably minimum, but I'm sure you would be able to...
I understand your sentiment. Nebraska clearly hasn't been getting the talent needed to compete at a high level. We really only have the ranking services to compare year to year, as flawed as they may be. But, there is clearly a difference between top 100 players vs top 1,000 plus players.
The Saudis are trying to diversify their economy from being just oil and energy. They are making a big push in the entertainment sector, which sports are obviously part of. Golf didn't pan out, but I would venture a guess they will keep trying other venues.
