    On3's updated 2026 women's basketball recruiting rankings

I'm just warning - an object lesson here in Arizona where the AD "talks" about contending in every sport and for the Sears Cup (or whatever they call it now). But got Adia out to save money and hired the Buffalo coach at considerable less. I'm not saying that it is a "bad" hire - who knows -...

BB Recruiting Rutgers Women's Basketball lands former Kansas State transfer forward Imani Lester

I cannot tell you how good I think Swann is. Prior to knowing that Adia was leaving - but after a number of players had entered the portal - I said that Lauren was the one player I didn't want to lose. Our loss is your gain. Think Maddie Conner of TCU, another ex Arizona player. Swann's 2...

BB Recruiting Rutgers Women's Basketball lands former Arizona transfer guard Lauryn Swann

She was one of my favorites here. Somewhat in the mode of former Wildcat Maddie Conner. I'm not digging into the details of "how" she plays, but as a dead-eye shooter, very much reminded me of Maddie before she went to TCU. As was said, if she hit her first shot, you knew she could hit a...

Basketball Rutgers defeats Charleston in WNIT Super 16 behind Adams' triple-double

Regarding the attendance - it really just requires winning. Not even winning at the highest level, necessarily. Attendance in the CVS era where Rutgers was nationally competitive was fine. The nature of the area where Rutgers is located is going to prevent Rutgers from having huge attendance...

    OT: Northwestern’s McKeown to retire

"Jumping Joe" as we called him in the day. When he was at GW, he would rip off his jacket and hop on and off his chair kind of all in one motion, if I recall correctly. A very nice guy, we talked to him briefly outside the GW arena - it wasn't that long before the game, but apparently he...

Diamond Johnson ( Norfolk State) in Dance

The whole tournament has included a lot of "closer than expected" "for a period of time" games, although the higher seeds largely pulled away, sometimes as early as the 2nd quarter, sometimes not till the 4th. In the end, the upsets haven't been huge, with 2 8 seeds and 2 7 seeds going down.

Basketball Rutgers Women's Basketball earns 2025 WNIT bid

Really, what I've tried to say, said more articulately with great (and accurate) background. The WNIT is now a joke, really, as I noted above RU is the only P4 team in the tourney. The WBIT took the thunder, not to mention in this day and age that having the NCAA pay your expenses (vs. the...

    Time for next HC pick

Yeah, Mizzou just hired Kelly Harper, apparently. ASU is not a very good job, but of course would allow her to stay home, but GCU is a far cry from a power conference in terms of environment.

Basketball Rutgers Women's Basketball earns 2025 WNIT bid

There are 8 P4 teams in the WBIT (of 32 teams, 25%). 37 in the NCAA's (of 68 teams, 54% of the field). One in the WNIT (of 48 teams, 2%) And 22 not in the post season. There are 68 teams in the P4 by coincidence, so 54% of the teams made the NCAA; 12% made the WBIT and a third of P4 teams...

Basketball Rutgers Women's Basketball earns 2025 WNIT bid

I'm all for success for Rutgers in the WNIT. What is disturbing is that Rutgers is the only Power Conference team in the field, probably a good enough reason for the bye. Actually, Rutgers didn't particularly lose to teams from the non-power conferences. Princeton is in the big dance and...

Basketball Rutgers Women's Basketball earns 2025 WNIT bid

Its a real offer. There is no winning record requirement. That said, why????? There were teams that turned down the more prestigious WBIT. My word.

    Time for next HC pick

Essentially what aardvark34 said. I agree that she would be picky, and certainly some very fine coaches have had a long career at a mid-major. But there is nothing about Rutgers that would make it especially appealing was my point. Sadly, by the way.

    Time for next HC pick

Just curious why you don't think she would leave? Especially with the changes in women's basketball (well, the NCAA really). I do agree that I doubt Rutgers would be a tempting destination, but I kind of thought she would in fact move on to bigger pastures at some point.

Women's Basketball to Celebrate Senior Day Against Penn State

Went to Arizona's final away game against our rival Arizona State - ASU presented roses to our 2 senior players. I think we acknowledged the seniors from the other team at our senior day, but I don't remember any presentation. And to be honest, have seen it a number of times historically with...

    Time for next HC pick

Thank you for posting, I didn't want to burst anyone's bubbles. But no, it has long been known that her interest is not in coaching; additionally, there is absolutely no clue how good or bad a coach she would be. Former star players are tricky - some work out and some not so much. Most, at...
