    OT: November 22, 1963

Driving to my office in East Brunswick from the Rutgers Touchdown Club luncheon at the old Roger Smith Hotel in NB with the late Chuck Triblehorn, RU grad and super fan. I forget how exactly but I had won a pair of free football tix which I never collected. Nearly drove off Route 18 at the news.

    OT: The John Oliver Show

Oliver is not only clever, he’s head-and-shoulders smarter than the rest of the bunch.

    1961 team

Talk about old — 1961 was the first season after I graduated. I saw most of the games the previous four years. (You could drive same-day to most them.) But the Selective Service System had other plans for me in ‘61. But if I remember correctly , RU beat Princeton in the season opener all four...

I remember “open tryouts“ for the freshman bball team there. Fall of ‘56. Must have been a hundred guys turned out.. My RU court career lasted about five minutes.

Is the outside of the new RWJB really planned to be as drab as the RAC?

All these years I was under the impression that most of the posters on these boards were professional football and basketball coaches, now I realize you're really professional architects.

    Trip to Australia & NZ

If you can swing it -- Business Class on Air New Zealand was the best flight of my life. (Also found NZ more interesting, more beautiful, more accessible than AUS.)

    watching the game on BTN

If all else fails, the football game is on the schedule for the "pirate" streamers like First Row Sports and others. You have to work your way through a lot of ads and phony "you-must-download-this" by X-ing them out but the video quality is usually first-rate.

OT: West Windsor Plainsboro N drops football

Seeing all this conversation about Asian student and football brings to mind Johnny Chung, one of the most-publicized college players in NJ history. He was known as the "Celestial Comet" playing for Coach Hop-a-Long Hobelitz's undefeated Plainfield Teachers College in 1941. Every week, the NYC...
