Headed down to the Beau Rivage this weekend

If you are in the mood for a steak, the casino's are quite good. BR Prime is probably the best at the Beau, but Ruth Chris at the Hard Rock and 32 at the IP are also very good.

More information regarding the BP disaster...

I heard that when something like this happens they kill the power on the rig to keep sparks from happening. What I have heard is that when they killed the power, the generator came on and provided the spark. Not sure how much stockI put into this, because the main power for the rig is a...

I personally do not think the actuators were sized correctly. They may have been sized to close the BOP under normal wellbore pressure, but I don't think they were sized sufficiently to close the BOP under a blowout situation. KennyB www.fishingmgc.net

Brantely, Why can't the drill the relief well shallower and tie into it at a much shallower depth? This would create a lot shorter route for the relief well, which could take a shorter period of time. By drilling it how they are drilling it now, are they trying to save the well? Are they being...

The way the oil company looks at it optimus is that this extra equipment can create false readings and close improperlly, this causes considerable down time for the oil companies. That's why the rigs who do have deadmans, they typically aren't armed anyway. It's all about the might dollar. Looks...

That is the million dollar question Brantley.

This is being tested now, and is a obvious fail. I have heard the Accumulator's on the seafloor failed during the blowout. No one has gotten a good handle on how to size the accumlators due to the...
