The Athletic on the Future of College Football...

I don't think there is any way it'll walk back now. They should look at how the NFL has created parity among the teams and do some modeling after that. The destruction of college football is the lack of competition at the top. Same 5 teams are the only teams with any possibility to win it...

    Hurricane Ian Thread

It's a tough recovery. We are still helping with hurricane Michael recovery in Panama City Beach. The battle I've witnessed from so many people with their insurance company first, then with trying to find a contractor, then trying to find materials has been tough. I hope that area is better...

    Hurricane Ian Thread

Actually, I bought an electric car with the side benefit of being able to drive it after a hurricane. Put a natural gas generator on the house and the gas company has never shut it off after storms. Gas is almost impossible to find for weeks/month after a storm. Seemed like a great extra...

    Internet speeds for Dummies

If you are gaming you'll want a low ping latency (ms) to go with a high download and upload speed (mbps). If you are just streaming a good download speed is probably all you need.

Fewest passing yards in the past two seasons

This isn't true. We started rushing 6 or 7 on every play to contain him. We just couldn't get to him even rushing that many. Their 5 blocked ours well. We tried to make an adjustment, we just didn't have the athletes to do it.

I only see 3 more wins on the schedule

Based on the evidence presented so far, it's hard to disagree. I guess we'll see. Can't say it isn't disappointing though.

5-7 in year 3 of Leach

If LSU would have had a QB that could actually pass the ball accurately it would have been a blowout. How many balls did our receivers drop over the middle? In one series there were three drops in a row. If Rogers is not perfect in a game, someone has to step up and make plays. I haven't...

Yall act like MSU bed shittin' started last night

This loss is on me. I let myself have hope and believe that we were better. It was foolish. I wish I could tell you it won't happen again but it probably will. I agree with aTotal360's take on it. My observation was our players did not have the physical abilities that LSU's did. They...

    OT: Anniversary Trip Destinations?

We also live in panhandle and the best vacation we've taken so far was to Guana Island on our 20th. We went in July since that is their off season and we were the only people on the Island. The total capacity is only 35 guests anyway. It's a great getaway where you feel private. All meals...

    Another EV thread

I bought a used 2021 Tesla Model S with 150 miles on it this year. Works great. It is very doable now as the range is comparable to a typical gas car and we can take road trips as there are many places to stop for supercharging along the interstates. Using an EV is very doable and reliable...

Our Annus Horribilis athletic year is finally over......

It is reassuring to discover this isn't just me. For years my favorite show was Gameday on Saturday mornings. I followed all of college football. Slowly over the last five years I don't even know if I record it anymore. I don't know if it's the inability for different teams to have a chance...

Frosh HR record holder Tommy White is in the Portal...

Maybe not completely OT, but if we assume that State isn't really able to compete in the NIL environment in Football and Basketball, doesn't it make sense that we would put all of our NIL money into baseball since other schools probably aren't willing to do that and be the best at that? With...

Brain Drain, In-State Job Opportunity, and... Jackson...

This. The non-tangibles experienced in everyday life in a well-run state are too much to pass up. The standard of living increases dramatically.

Brain Drain, In-State Job Opportunity, and... Jackson...

Obviously I didn't communicate my thoughts too well. The people are neighborly, almost everyone treats one another like they are family. This is wonderful. This isn't the case in most other places I've been. That's the asset of the people in MS that I am referring. I believe MS has too much...
