    Campbell Question....

Probably the toughest situation of all the major teams' coaching transistions with the exodus of players and recruits, with some influence from an 'internal coup' of departed coach and soon to be departed recruiting coordinator, and just too much time for the administration to act, effectively...

Interesting article over on VictoryBell Rings site regarding offense

I wonder if the WR Sowell wasn't fully recovered from what looked like an ankle injury he got in the first half.

    Campbell Question....

I guess there are players and coaches who have got into their respective HOFs on overall and regular season stats, and not the quality wins, playoff competition, and championships. I wish Franklin all the best, but I was glad a while back when stopped playing the blocked kick return for a...

    Landon Tengwall?

USC played out safeties and the LB Ebel all night. It might have been better to redirect them from their normal coverage and tackling responsibilities to rushing together or alternately.

Did anybody think Matt Campbell could turn us into Iowa State football this quickly?

I don't think either had the fired coach and an inept AD leading a mass exit of players and recruits...unfortunately a 2-3 year project.

Performing in favored game can be considered 'quality'...distinguishing might be a better word which such wins may not be IMO. With any of a few possible changes, including better play by the LB Ebel or his replacement, more/better safety play, same for the OL and RB with respect to the run...

Did anybody think Matt Campbell could turn us into Iowa State football this quickly?

My bad on thinking incorrectly we lost twice to Oregon that year-didn't play them in the regular season. I do stand by my feeling luck (not playing them, Michigan, and Indiana) in the regular season set us up for a one-loss in regular season, and a number of things happening to get us into the...

It seemed Kraft was going after big fish, but I don't remember hearing Diaz's name. I would have been very happy to have him, especially regarding his impact on our D. I liked how he handled himself on the sidelines and talking to the media. I was able to see a pres-season show with him on an...

Did anybody think Matt Campbell could turn us into Iowa State football this quickly?

I think merging cultures, relationships (staff and player), and team can be difficult with uncertain outcomes. Unfortunately, a number of other teams, have handled it better, which increases expectations...those same teams didn't have the same level of veteran and recruit exit as Penn State...

Question for those who make chili at home...

A bit of trivia...according to the presentation at the Hormal Spam museum in Minnesota, chile was the first commercially produced 'ethnic' food, a factor to its introduction was a large surplus of metal cans leftover from WWII production.

I think Grunk deserves his own thread....

I was at Penn State when Hostetler and Blackledge were there...tough decision but the right one for Hoss. I just enjoy seeing players get the chance to progress, and unfortunately it seems lately we've had a number of QBs who got the starting role over several years and didn't progress.

I probably should have said 'gave it his all' vs 'stuck it out'. I thought he shows incredible progress and could have easily won another 2 games. Other the LB that went to Tennessee, he was the one player I was hoping would stay.

...I'm waiting for my 17 PSU jersey to come in the mail...plan to wear it all next season to honor those who stuck it out and may not have gotten the recognition....Tom Bradley comes to mind for that group.

    '25 (in-season) - '26 CFB Portal Thread

That's what many said about last year's group with respect to the 3 top transfer portal WRs...did we even get half of their production from the previous year? It all comes down to skill, coaching, and schemes. I do believe the team was severely lacking in the latter 2. My hopes are the...

    '25 (in-season) - '26 CFB Portal Thread

I believe most everyone wants certainty, and where there are options, these options will be considered and even pursued. Whatever certainty or sense of fair competition Campbell was able to convey in the brief time with the team-even briefer with his absence from the bowl game, probably was...
