I think Mason is pretty good and could play 10-15 minutes a game this year and contribute. I loved the pickup when it happened and think if Pope can somehow pull out a good season this year, Mason could be a very solid piece going into building the roster for next year.
Your argument is Cal was able to recruit better players so he was held to a higher standard? Pope gets to underperform because he isn't capable of recruiting and coaching at this level. LMAO

His job is to put together teams that compete for 30 win seasons. He hasn't come close. He isn't in a "no win" situation, he's been given a huge budget and resources to get the best players in the country and cannot do it.
