    This really is a great song

    I have always liked DuranDuran, probably because my HS girlfriend liked them. Seen them a couple times, most recently Halloween 2024. Good show. To this day, I despise The Reflex though. Phil Collins/Genesis is that group for me. Just grew tired of Phil’s voice. Now I listen to it a lot.

    This is a good thread. As a child of the MTV era, I really despised the songs in continual rotation. I have a new appreciation for many of them today.

    Not a ship. It was a pier. Cargo ships would dock and unload there. I’ll see if I can link it.

    Had a boss years ago that lived in one of condos that had been converted from an old shipping pier between the Ben Franklin bridge and Penn’s Landing. What an incredible place to live. Always enjoyed visiting him there.

    I classify the sweatshirt slogan as unnecessary. Kind of like the dominate the state line or great to elite or reacting to the fan in the stands or any subtle jabs at Pitt early on. The more these seemingly minor incidents popped up, the less likable he became.

    First time I looked at the actual schedule, though I knew which teams were scheduled to play. So much for starting the BIG season at home. We’ve been awarded 3 in a row on the road to start conference play! SMH.

    Lost in this discussion is that in order to actually win the BIG, we have to win the BIG Champ game, probably against one of those teams we were lucky to avoid on the regular schedule.

    First, I love Penn State. Even in 1987, I wouldn’t wear clothes with the coach’s signature emblazoned across the front. Not my style.

    You could see signs of this trait early on from his apparent bitterness toward Maryland, his petty inferences about Pitt, his biting back at fans on two separate occasions. Just let it go, man.
