    I would absolutely take him. He has huge name recognition and kids would be intrigued to play for an NBA coach.     In all seriousness, Pope had less on his resume than Billy Gillispie when he got hired. Mind you, he’s a much classier human being than Billy, but the on court results are only marginally better so far. The next hire needs to be a Cal-level hire. Not a Gillispie-level hire.
