Granted, I don't see much reason to believe Tanner can go out and land a great coach, but...Dawn? Do people really think the women's coach is that plugged in to the men's coaching world? In my limited coaching experience, the men's and women's games are almost different sports altogether.
It is quite possible to like a player and hate some of his decisions. If you're expecting fan-bases in general to get behind the fact that some players choose to sit out games to 'prepare for the draft', it isn't going to happen. Many people expect to see players finish the season and not quit...
My first attempt was a 'yes'. Well, first REAL attempt...I'm not counting that massive whiff when I was 11.
On a side note: you can't go wrong with this line as your ice-breaker. Simply walk up to a girl, hold out your drink and ask; "Excuse me, but does this taste like roofies to you?"
Maybe the Olympic Committee (and more specifically, the civilized world) should stop awarding the Olympics to countries ruled by totalitarian governments (China), countries with poor human rights records (China) and borderline 3rd World countries.
While it may be mathematically possible, I don't think its possible in theory. But, to address your scenario: I think 7-1 down the stretch might get us in. That leaves us 11-7 in conference, 20-10 overall. We may still need some SECT help, but we'd be firmly in the discussion.
I'll get in on the odds-making. First, I do think Dawn's team is the favorite to win, but I don't think any team has a 50% chance at this point. I'd say there's about a 15-20% chance of the girls going undefeated during the NCAA tournament. I don't think I'd give any other team more than 10%.
There's nothing wrong with standing out or embracing traditions. Yes, its an EPL tradition but I'm not sure why teams need nicknames anyway. Are there really a group of giants playing in NY? Does the SF team spend its free time panning for gold? Is the college team in the upstate composed of...
Maybe I'm in the minority, but I'd have liked to see them just remain the Washington Football Team. It would have kind of a European soccer feel to it.
Auburn is clearly worried that Pearl will be poached by a basketball blueblood. I agree that it is a risk to invest this much in a guy like Pearl, but with the NCAA losing so much of their bite, it is probably one worth taking.
