    I didn’t realize Venables was so short. I hope OU keeps him around for a few more seasons. With TU, and my beloved Dallas Cowboys, sucking up the gridiron watching OU slide back into mediocrity is the only real football joy I get.

    So much goes into winning games and talent is a part but not everything. Loren has developed a program in Bixby that can’t lose. Occasionally a college team will pass on talent but if they are truly D1 talent they usually get a G5 offer at least. College is also a very different game.

    Spanos went 1-9 as interim coach at UCONN in 2021 with the only win being over Yale and that was 21-15. I don't think he will get the call to be a head coach anywhere.
