What did you get wrong in 2024?

CCHS lost nearly all its starters on both sides of the ball from this year's team. With only 35 guys total in the program, there will be growing pains as this staff continues to build toward a consistent program. With our enrollment, we need all good athletes in the school to play football. I...

What did you get wrong in 2024?

That Chicago Christian could actually win a State championship. I now don't need ANY presents this year, and I'll just keep singing Christmas carols.

What's the 411 on Chicago Christian?

CCHS invited past head football coaches to the sideline of the championship game. Vander Kooi came to the game and had a sideline pass. A nice touch by the program.

What's the 411 on Chicago Christian?

Aurora Central Catholic, the early days of Wheaton Academy and even early Nazareth Academy. We even beat Naz in football in the mid 80's a couple times!

What's the 411 on Chicago Christian?

Clarification - Our feeder schools used to be almost entirely - 90%+ - comprised of students from Reformed and Christian Reformed church communities. Unfortunately, that has declined a great deal over the years. We get students from other Christian churches but it is random after these and the...

What's the 411 on Chicago Christian?

They do not. They play locally for Pop warner/community teams. During COVID year 2020 or 2021 when Palos Stars did NOT field teams that year, we had 3-4 kids from Palos go and play for Homer Stallions.

What's the 411 on Chicago Christian?

The % has gone down over the years. 40 years ago it was probably 95%. Now it can range from 50 - 75%. Even if the % went up because of football success, which I very much doubt, then we are talking only another 10-20 kids. We've started to get a few other kids from other Christian schools in...

What's the 411 on Chicago Christian?

I'm not surprised you haven't heard of Chicago Christian. In 57 years, we've had little football success over the years. We made the quarterfinals once in the playoffs in 2007 and then got whipped by Driscoll Catholic near the end of their 8 years of titles run. We get our football talent mostly...

    2024 Playoffs

The interesting thing about Tri-Valley is when CCHS went to their place and won in round 2, TV's head coach Josh Roop was 100% class. He never complained about a private v public. Instead, he invited CCHS to join their team and pray together after the game. He called CCHS and their 34 total...

    CC/M-F

Today was the culmination of 50 years of watching CC football for me. There were many lean years. But today, we won with a group of kids who were 5 - 5 last year but improved tremendously this year with great coaching.

Most Surprising Semi Final Team based off of Preseason expectations?

This. Soucie picked CC to finish 6th in their own conference.

    Breaking from Johnston City...

Maybe Johnston City can change their name to "Johnson City" for a couple days just so the jokes can flow

    1A/2A/3A Quarterfinals

I am looking forward to Bismarck coming to Chicago Christian's first ever home playoff game in the quarterfinals or beyond. Many of y'all get year after year of prime playoff matchups for your teams, so this is a some prime rib for hungry CCHS fans. I agree with doctor d - that QND and Maroa...
