If you could one loss this weekend

I think my answer is between the lines when I said I would actually like to win both the SEC and the playoffs. If we lose either, then we are out. I could ask that same question reworded to you by asking how would you feel if Bama loses and we lose the SECCG? I would much rather actually be IN...

If you could one loss this weekend

We also have an opportunity to make it to the playoffs with 1 less game. The smart choice is to limit injuries or losses. Don't make it harder on yourself. Sure, it would look and feel a lot better if we won both the SEC and the playoffs but do you really think it would be disappointing if we...

If you could one loss this weekend

FSU without a doubt. I have no qualms with Bama representing the West. Gives us 1 less game to risk. Only downside is that we'd have to travel to Pasadena, but I'd be willing to take that over playing Bama in the semi-finals.

Say Bama and State win this weekend, then Bama loses to Georgia -are we screwed?

Just because they'll be SEC champs? Seriously? No way their resume is better than ours.

If you have some extra time on your hands (apparently you do) go see OSU boards

It's especially interesting that they don't see how ESPN and all of the other talking heads are fellating them. You'd think that people were trying to keep them out of the playoffs. Where their confidence comes from after losing to Va Tech, I have no idea.

There it was again: MSU SOS #50

2008 ACC Atlantic division http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_Atlantic_Coast_Conference_football_season I had asked that in a question and it was pointed out to me. Technically it's still true considering this is the first time a conference with 7 in a division has done so.

    Strength of Schedule..

What metric are they using? Is it purely wins and losses and not who these teams have beaten?

What pisses me off the most about the sudden Ohio State love

Then what about TCU and Baylor? Only reason Baylor is behind TCU is because they haven't played KState yet. If both of them win out, they would have also made the prerequisite of winning their conference and Baylor should be ahead of TCU by that point, meaning that Ohio State would have to jump...

3 reasons to step back and take a deep breath in spite of the media's obsession

Again... I never said anything about where I personally felt FSU should be placed. So the comparison to MSU's strength of schedule and results kind of falls for me, especially considering that MSU's SOS is higher than FSU's with less quality OOC games as well as losing by 5 to Bama in...

Not that we need anything else from ESPN to piss us of.....

I literally JUST read that too. I was going to let it go but whatever.. 17 them.

3 reasons to step back and take a deep breath in spite of the media's obsession

You said that SoS was on a "long list of subjective measurements" and went on to say that being undefeated and other credentials is why FSU deserves to be #1. I'm pointing out that in one line you try to discredit the strength of schedule argument while at the same time saying that it is...

3 reasons to step back and take a deep breath in spite of the media's obsession

You do realize that the credentials for FSU you're using is exactly SOS right..? That's the only thing separating them from Marshall and as plenty of others have noted, it's not as wide of a difference as you're making it out to be.

The reality of the Egg Bowl.

So do the Hogs crack the committee's 25?

They actually have a fairly decent chance With all of the losses in the lower top 25 on top of their dominating wins of top 25 teams, they serve a pretty good chance. But if they beat Missouri Thursday, then rest assured they'll be ranked, something we need at this point in time.

When's the last time a conference has had an entire division bowl eligible?

I can't think of a single time that's happened in recent memory. Hell, it's possible the SEC has 13 teams eligible depending on if Kentucky (unlikely) beats Louisville. It's even crazier to consider that now that we have 14 teams. Will any teams be at risk of not receiving a bid if we only have...
