US Open entries rolling in - including Lee, Kilty, DeSanto, Buchanan (and more)

Did I miss Kenny wrestling at seniors? Melvin wrestled a whole tournament. I’m not saying Kenny isn’t good, I’m actually very high on him but his performance this weekend was underwhelming. We don’t need to have an excuse or defend every bad performance, sometimes guys just don’t come out ready...

To say our recruits have had an underwhelming weekend would be an understatement. I thought Kenny could win 61kg and he didn’t even place losing to an Iowa state back up and a Cal poly commit who’s ranked 19th in the country. I’m high on Kenny but was a rough weekend.

Paul Kenny got teched by Carter Pearson. Did not see that coming, not a good result.

    Senior Men US Open

Don’t understand how that wasn’t a step out for Spencer, should have been up 5-0. Sucks that he lost but not worried about it too much, he’s gonna run through the trials and Luke isn’t beating him in a best of 3. Does suck that he gave Luke a lot of confidence for when they meet again

There was no buzz of this from anybody with any credibility. Just random Iowa haters

I would love if he could but unfortunately he can’t. Carr’s style leaves him not susceptible to get upset than Messenbrink’s does. Carr’s results are surprising but has 0 correlation to Caliendo being able to ever beat MM

Someone on here recently seemed pretty confident that Merrill wouldn’t be a contender next year at HWT. Well they probably shouldn’t watch what he’s doing to Paris right now. Merrill is like a giant boulder, gonna be hard for anybody to score on him. Wouldn’t be surprised if him and Ross have a...

Castillo to ASU. Wonder what that does with seacrist also coming in and being a career 25er it looks like. Can’t say that for many but wrestled 113 as a senior and was #1 in the country. Really tough kid and can have success if he puts on the size if not could end up like a Kurt mchenry

So is crookham for sure not wrestling this year? Did the staff know this beforehand if true? I would of said hard pass if he’s really missing his 3rd season in a row and I’m somebody who really wanted him to be a hawk

    Recruiting….

I mentioned him recently and was wondering if it’s too late to flip incoming freshman because the kid is a stud and at a weight we really needed until Schubert came along. I would still love to have him on our team, most impressive to me in those 2 matches too is that he actually went out there...

Honestly not a great year for the portal at 65 but Schubert is very solid. Also the more you look at 65 the more you can see the upside with him as the weight is pretty weak. Ruiz will come in ranked 2nd and I would take Ruiz in that match but I wouldn’t be shocked if Schubert could beat him...

There were a lot of rumors of NC state guys leaving before the portal officially opened so I think many were hoping he’d be one of them. He has 3 years left so would of been a huge get if he entered but I think Robinson and Zepeda ended up being the only guys of significance to actually enter...

He had a solid year at 74 last year winning the cliff keen and having wins over Steed, Wask, and Gaitan. He ended up losing to Wask in the blood round which was a rematch of the cliff keen final. If he can handle the cut to 65 he will definitely be an AA but yeah he’s not a huge point scorer...

I think Schubert will be a low AA guy at 65 which is a huge upgrade from the current roster. If the season started today I have no clue who the starter at 65 would even be. CJ maybe but he honestly looked terrible at the SS and was clearly not near ready to be the guy.
