    You could be right about that. I'm unsure what FSU was telling White re: his staffing options. I feel pretty good about stating that White let Knighton know he'd like him to join him at FSU at least over a week ago. It's over now and personally I wish Knighton, White, and any others on their way...

    My memory's not the greatest, but I think when Pete Carroll arrived at USC he created more of an open and family friendly environment where visitors were welcome at practices and the atmosphere was just a bit different than at other places. I kind of get that vibe from hearing stories coming out...

    NU may have some relatively young coaches but they've all grown up around football and are more experienced than their years suggest IMO, so when some of them say DR is different (re: his QB skills), that means something. Going to be an exciting year.

    My understanding is that Raiola is as good as advertised. Lots of things are relative, of course, and QB play at NU hasn't been spectacular lately, but there's some buzz about what he's done and is doing at practice. Would not be surprised if efforts were underway to upgrade the talent around...

    Not hard to believe some players not knowing. Very hard to believe the coaches didn't know. Hindsight is 20/20.

    I'm with you, Chief. They must have a handful of interior guys they're high on because these rooms can get pretty weak pretty quickly. I'm very happy Rhule's brought physicality back (or at least has encouraged it more) to the practices.

    I was always impressed with DK's interviewing skills. He was such a terrific representative (and hopefully will still be). I wish I was that bright. I think he's got a bright future.....but I also thought Sims was going to have a great year for NU.

    My understanding is that Sims's issue at GT was inconsistency. i'm not sure anyone knows whether that was related to his maturity, his team, the opponent, injuries, or all (or none) of these. Nevertheless, he had some very good games, so he's got talent. Hopefully, he'll be consistently...
