So, its Cambell. Great hire. Let's see what recruits PSU can swipe.

Yes, he did coach Purdy. And according to google AI, Campbell was offered the USC job but was persuaded by Purdy not to take it because of the lifestyle of the west coast compared to Iowa. Interesting that AI would indicate that tidbit. But he did coach Purdy from 2018 to 2021.

Nothing to Freak out about in my opinion. Rode the scandal out. Program is fine.

Mr. Potter, why take a realistic view when it is so much easier to cry wolf and exclaim the sky is falling. As Fitz said on the podcast today, if we get a top-notch hire, all this angst will disappear (hopefully).

On a scale of 1 to 10, what’s your game interest today?

My thoughts exactly. Interest level is pretty low but at the end of the day a win would give us a 9-2 record. Not too shabby.

Former Penn State linebacker Jamari Buddin picks transfer destination

Wow...Las Cruces is about as far south you can go and still be in the U.S. Nice town, a bit dusty and dry. Close to White Sands. Not as nice as Tucson, which is a few hours west.

    Book(s) you are currently reading.

Just re-read A Gentleman in Moscow. You owe it to yourself to read it. Am currently reading "Ghost Soldiers" by Hampton Sides, about a small group of U.S. Army rangers attempting to rescue American POWs in early 1945. Hampton Sides is a terrific writer. He also wrote "Blood and Thunder: the...

Ben Macintyre's "Doublecross: The true story of the D-Day Spies", tale of double agents and their role in Operation Fortitude. Operation Fortitude was a plan to deceive the Nazis into thinking that the Normandy Operation was a diversionary tactic, and that the primary invasion would be at Pas...

anyone following the black bear situation in south lake Tahoe?

Thanks for the answer, LafayetteBear. Makes perfect sense, the measures residents are taking. Seems like a real challenge. Interesting point, too, about the hibernation, or lack of, in the winter. Good luck.

anyone following the black bear situation in south lake Tahoe?

I wonder what a reasonable solution would look like. Should humans be required to keep their trash in the garage or some other out house? Should zoning laws be tightened to restrict housing too close to where bears range? Related question, I guess, but don't the bears in Lake Tahoe area...

Free to a good home: various Penn State Football publications primarily from the 70's and 80's

I am in the process of downsizing and came across various football publications that I have collected over the many years I have been a Penn State fan. I am hoping that one of the Board readers will be happy to add these to their own personal library. There are 10 publications, including: 1)...

This day in history 1964. How many remember? (link)

It was not true that contemporary pop music in 1963 was banaI or bland. I was 13, and was listening to the Beach Boys, the Four Seasons and the sounds from Motown. Great stuff. The Beatles came along and quickly became such a remarkable phenomenon I was glad to have lived through it first hand
