I'd agree but I do think that Neuqua collapsed down the stretch of that game and that Metea capitalized.

Who isn't good? Metea or Neuqua? I watched the highlights and would argue that Neuqua collapsed down the stretch and Metea found a way to capitalize. One Valley school was clearly the better team and had a finishers mentality. The other school, not so much.

Thought it was pretty notable that Metea had a huge comeback win against Neuqua last night. Wonder if they're the next big thing in the DVC and ready to challenge Naperville North in week 5.

    Its finally here fellas

Agreed. Was always fun to have some HS football on during most nights of the week. But I think these days are gone because the enrollment in most schools continues to decrease, changing demographics in school districts, and the fact that less kids are playing football and sports in general now...

Who is Your Teams Biggest Rival?

Easy one for me here: Naperville North vs. Naperville Central.

    Week 1 Games

Naperville North vs. New Trier should be a good one.

Between The Lines Podcast is back. Have any questions for us?

What is the outlook for the Western Suburbs this fall? Who's the top team on the rise? Thinking DVC, DuKane, and Southwest Prairie Conference. Is there a program you feel like will be taking a step back?

As a Naperville North fan/supporter, I've always been of the opinion that Dekalb has no business being in the DVC. If the rumors of them wanting to get out are really true, you have to wonder what the future of the conference is. There is no use in playing just four non-conference games, and if...

    Schedule release date

Would be nice if they got Edgy and some other people in studio to break the entire thing down. Much like the NFL does. But then again, most teams have their schedules posted on their sites way before the games actually begin.

Throw Central in there as well if you want but again, NV was the one that wanted to be in the DVC about a decade ago and forced the other two Valley's to come along.

There is going to be some bad blood between NN, NV, and the rest of the DVC. After all, people seem to forget that years ago, it was NV who wanted to be in the DVC so badly that they dragged the other two Valley schools along. Furthermore, the conference always seems to do what is convenient...

SWP/DVC merger is interesting but the question is, are the Oswego's and Yorkville willing to let Naperville North and Neuqua into the conference?

I do wonder which conference decided to break the merger off. It seemed like a good fit for the SWSC but not the DVC.

I think it's going to be more of a tossup than people think it will be. Obviously, Naperville North should be favored to win the conference, but it can play out in any random order.

Some of those are one district high schools where said building gets all the talent coming in from the middle schools.
