Interesting. For this one, I'd say a few schools/districts to consider:
Wheaton North and Glenbard West (CUSD 200 and Glenbard District 87)
Naperville North and Wheaton South (Naperville District 203 and District 200)
Geneva and Batavia (These two schools are only one district HS)
The rules say 30 miles and it's like 10 times that in terms of distance between St. Francis and East St. Louis. But let's be real: There's a lot that goes on behind the scenes that the IHSA or nobody on the outside really knows.
So what in your opinion do you think NV needs to do to get back on top? It does seem like the other two valley schools are getting significantly better at every sport.
I guess my question is, would you really classify beating MV and WV as top tier wins? The HF win, I give them credit for but the other two Valley schools have rarely been competitive in football.
Fair point. I think at the end of the day, this may not be a one-year thing after all. If you're a highly seeded team that is a bit banged up going into the playoffs, that bye week helps you get healthy.
This whole idea of. "This is going to be a one and done thing," is all based on what we...
I'm pretty sure Oswego graduated a ton but they have a very good Soph//Junior class from 2025 coming back.
Why aren't Neuqua's numbers great on varsity? That's a top notch football school in that district.
That's going to be a fun matchup. How is Neuqua looking this year? I know they've given us (Naperville North) a tough time over the last few years. The atmosphere at these games is always so fun.
The professional leagues are doing it because more games means more money, sponsorship deals, and a greater revenue percentage for the owners. Part of that is the massive TV deals and contracts with the streaming services.
At the HS level, I've argued for and against the expanded playoffs. It...
I am sure some of these coaches are all at schools that traditionally have no issues making the playoffs.
I think we have to realize that the schools, which are members of the IHSA voted on the expanded playoffs and so it's the schools who did this, not the IHSA. But also, like anything in...
