    I disagree. Prior to the last few years Bama always got the benefit of being Bama. Once in, they only had to win 2 games. They also had the benefit of having a top 2 or 3 roster. Compare that to going forward, where they might have the 5th or 6th best roster, might have to go on the road up...

    Nah. It came out of nowhere. Guy like Saban was going to coach forever. The path to NC's got much more difficult with NIL, expanded playoff, Texas joining the SEC. The days of Bama getting the benefit of the doubt and automatically getting into a 4 team playoff were over. Great coach...

    Difference is having the highest payroll among a dozen or so vs. dozens. Expanded playoff and NIL weren't good for Saban. Not random that he bailed when he did.
