OT: Annual list of beach tag prices in NJ Deal tops the list at $200

I live in a 3br, 2.5 bath, 1500sq/ft townhouse that I bought in 2017 for $210k in Brick. Nice neighborhood but nothing crazy. Its current estimate is $440k, which is pretty realistic given what others in the neighborhood have gone for. I also have an APR around 3.25%. If someone now put 20%...

OT: Annual list of beach tag prices in NJ Deal tops the list at $200

I feel sad for my Gen Z brethren. Most won't be able to afford any houses of their own for a long time, and they won't be able to rent a shore house soon either. Only a matter of time before it starts crushing the bars down here as well, especially combined with the fact that generation doesn't...

OT: Annual list of beach tag prices in NJ Deal tops the list at $200

Some? I assumed all did that haha. The amount of spots gone on Thursday afternoon now vs how many of the weekenders are in town, its very obvious that has been happening for years. However, the total amount of beaten down rental houses dwindles more and more with each passing year. I don't...

OT: Annual list of beach tag prices in NJ Deal tops the list at $200

This is 100% not the case for any beach in Monmouth county besides Maybe Sea Girt/Spring Lake. It would be foolish to even say that out loud about Squan or Belmar, where every close spot is taken by 5PM on Friday for basically the entire weekend.

I've read that the 126 year old # comes from SQL database defaulting to 1/1/1900 for any unknown birthdate. So that's where this comes about and is not sinister at all.

So now you will find that every driveway is filled to the brim with cars, and every single street spot within a 10 minute walk of the beach is gone by 10AM on a beach day, if not all weekend come Friday afternoon. People with driveways typically leave that open for late arriving friends/family.

While I too dislike the spirit of charging for the beach, I wonder what would happen if NJ stopped charging for beach access though. Every shore town is MOBBED any nice weather Saturday-Sunday for 3 months straight. It certainly isn't deterring many people from coming. I go to Manasquan - I just...

Basketball Rutgers / Syracuse at Barclays Center for 2026-27 season

Everyone keeps saying this. It's 100% true obviously and a lame excuse for people to not go. The people who are refusing to go are either scared of the potential subway patrons, or too lazy to learn how to navigate it.

OT: Spring Warmth, 3/5-3/12+? Winter 2025-26 - Patterns and Potential Winter Storms

Was the bridge out all day? I pulled up at 11:29AM and it looked like it was actively closing at that point. When I left around 3PM, I was parked on Brielle and could see it was closed again but just assumed it was random. They can't get rid of that thing soon enough, its insane that its still...

OT: Spring Warmth, 3/5-3/12+? Winter 2025-26 - Patterns and Potential Winter Storms

Squan was PACKED yesterday, probably 75% of a typical summer Saturday. It was very chilly, but if you lay down the wind mostly passes over you and that helps. Sitting upright was just barely warm enough for me because the sun was very hot, and I don't mind a little chill. My wife wouldn't have...

My guess would be because of a star player like David Njoku.

Football Rutgers announces homecoming game in 2026 will be against Indiana

This appears to be a thing, and makes sense why RU chose this game then. I searched a handful of B10 schools and every school that had a HC game posted was a conference game. What a stupid rule for the B10 to have. They should try to increase attendance for lousy OOC games for everyone.

I thought for sure Howard was a Jewish holiday or something and that's why it wasn't picked but nope! This makes 0 sense.

OT: Weekend snowstorm - historic blizzzard

I cleaned up my neighbors driveway a bit and it was incredibly easy compared to yesterday, even accounting for the tiny bit of slush at the bottom. Yesterday was a beast, had to split the piles into thirds basically. I'm in Brick.
