    I agree. That is definitely Popes strategy. Whether it bears fruit remains to be seen. I like good depth as well, just wondering if he is taking it a few guys too far for the sake of filtering an elite guy? Hard to find minutes for 13.

    It’s not a matter of being better, it’s that those guys will get minutes regardless. Too many to keep them all happy.

    Not at all. And I like good depth (as opposed to many of the Cal years where we could not run a 5 on 5 practice), but having 13 guys that need some minutes is too many mouths to feed and pay. Having some injury depth is necessary, but finding minutes for 13 is bound to make the top 5/6...

    Would be my only criticism of Pope so far…he is building a roster with too many players that need minutes. He should have shed a few to make certain we had the minutes.

    I would have said A- before yesterday. Yesterday was concerning. The KSR article summed it pretty well. I would say B/B+.

    What's your biggest concern with Pope moving forward?

    Defense and overall intensity. We are not a high effort bunch. Teams take on the personality of the coach and Pope is pretty laid back. Can’t see his teams fighting hard on the defensive end. You can see it in the close outs, the defensive rotation, the loose balls, etc.

    This ! Glad Rob played here and he was fun to watch. But this was a huge factor that most people fail to recognize. His net output can be replaced.

    If that is Arkansas’ starting lineup, they would not come close to making the tourney. That being said, I am sure that will not be. Losing 3 recruits probably helped Arkansas, as it will force Cal into the portal to get players that are more experienced and proven.

    I have not enjoyed ADs NBA career. He is soft, does not play hard, plays slow, and has put on too much bad weight. I thought he would be a better offensive Dwight Howard…run the floor, play above the rim, high flying blocks, etc. He has had a good career, but other than his first few years...
