    Great Semi-Final games!

    Taylor Bell wrote many times that the 1979 5A (there were only five classes) semi between Deerfield and St. Laurence was the best high school game he had ever seen. The game was at Gately and St. Laurence won on a 42 yard field goal with 8 seconds left, 17-14. Oh, and Deerfield's Greg Scarpone...

    Who's left by conference

    Hopefully for the last time, MAINE SOUTH IS NOT open enrollment! There is a small section of Park Ridge, north of Oakton Street, where students can choose Maine East or Maine South. That's all. That's it. This has been discussed over and over and hopefully this is the last time.

    I recall Jim Stadler returning a pick for a touchdown, but the Deerfield offense really never got going. Great game.

    Who was your favorite QB in Illinois in the past 20 years

    Before all of them was Tony Wnek, the forgotten man. 6'2", 205 lbs and a 4.5 forty time. His senior year stats, the only year he played QB, were incredible.

    Congratulations to the Ramblers! Great coach, tough kids! LWE is a great program, and had a fantastic season. But there remains a reason we play the games.
