AJ Ferrari reportedly in trouble again (6/27/26)

Oh, he's absolutely "insurable". Technically everyone is, including "uninsurable" (by the standard market), they just have to use a high-risk insurer or state-mandated pool. With his record - along with age/sex and the type of vehicle - the premium has got to be astronomical. Whether he is...

    Non-PSU Recruiting

With transfer madness it is all but impossible to even define what "progress towards a degree" is, let alone to measure it for each individual player. There are guys who are in their 6th,7th, and even 8th years of eligibility, check what degrees they have - but magically they've never been...

Five in Five - What Might That Look Like?

+1 I know dozens of BYU (or committed to BYU) football players who went on missions. They got just as much "p-day" time as everyone else. Their allowed "training" was pickup basketball once a week at the local church and maybe some pushups first thing in the morning. Religious service may become...

Thiago Silva is pretty much John Smith in Brazil. The most famous one is the soccer player. I also happen to have a friend with the name; similarly, no relation to the former MMA fighter (or soccer player).

Thanks for the play-by-play. I definitely did not have Dake and Green as world team members on my bingo card. Great to hear that Blaze was more aggressive in the 3rd match and pulled it out. I've been a pretty vocal critic of his chances in this historically stacked weight class for the U.S; the...

I don't necessarily see Sanchez coming to PSU, but I also wouldn't assume him and Sidun overlap. He went from 106 to 112 (U17 last year) to 120, still has 2yrs of high school left. He also looks, right now, to be a lot longer than Sidun. I'm not sure he's a college 125.

Here in Utah, a handful of schools have traded spots literally buying all the top athletes in the state. Was Corner Canyon for a while and now it's Orem. All depends on who has the best current infrastructure to hook the kids up with NIL. It's almost unheard of now for a high school athlete with...

This may be true. I have a cousin that just bought 19 acres, with a home and barn, not too far from Stillwater. I was absolutely floored how cheap it was. I'd never want to live there.

Reggie Bush did not buy his parents a house with donor money, his parents lived rent-free - for less than a year - in a San Diego-area home that was in the name of a prospective agent (Lloyd Lake) who had no connection to USC. Lake was an associate of Bush's stepfather who had never attended...

Transfer Portal 2026 + Other team movements

Super common in any college town, I lived in several of these situations throughout my education journey (all were owned/bought by parents). It's super popular everywhere now, especially new builds. We live in a brand new community in a pretty affluent area and our home is an outlier because we...

Transfer Portal 2026 + Other team movements

There are no answers, only compromises. I am pretty close to a free market absolutist; in theory, I am all for NIL. But, the overwhelming majority of college athletes have no "name, image, likeness value" at all, it's just pay-for-play from wealthy, jock-sniffing donors. I don't know what can be...

For a non-national champion, in an NCAA sport that <1% of the adult population follows at all. Good for him for taking advantage, but what a freaking joke NIL has made collegiate sports.

Would Melvin Miller have still committed to VT with James there 🤷‍♂️

    '26 USA U23 Nationals, 5/29-31, thread

My paternal side snuck into this country via the southern border in the mid-70's. On my mom's side, they came from Mexico in the late 60's for my grandfather to go to medical school. They're all long deceased and as far as I know nobody knows a whole lot about anything before they came to the U.S.

Transfer Portal 2026 + Other team movements

My brother lived in Cheyenne for ~5yrs and I have an uncle (and aunt) and two of their sons (and their families) who are there. I have zero experience with Blacksburg, but I can't imagine Laramie being a hot spot for many college-aged men. The winters are brutal (the wind gets insane) and there...
