    EARLY 2026-27 lineup projections/discussions

If my crystal ball is working, the guys who I expect to finish above SVN at 149 are all younger than him and there are FOUR past NCAA champions in the weight class next year. Do other (younger) guys, who have stood atop the podium before, not improve? Of course he'll improve, is his progression...

    EARLY 2026-27 lineup projections/discussions

Just another heehaw with an opinion, I don't see it. His shot was last season, in what was a really weak weight class. If the weight class plays out like it seems, I don't see him top-3 next year.

    EARLY 2026-27 lineup projections/discussions

What I don't understand is who the heck is funding these collectives? I am about as big of college sports fan as anybody, and I have been fairly successful; if one of my three alma maters asked me to pitch in to help them buy some 17yr old football player, I'd ask them to please lose my number...

Geez, the boys U17 are bombing.

PSU National Champs High School Recruiting Ranking

+1 Also, wrestling may have the strongest association between recruiting rankings and college success of any NCAA sport. You don't see a lot of high level wrestlers that just picked it up in high school; the vast majority of these young men have been competing against each other, all over the...

    Mitchell Mesenbrink interview

Honestly, this sounds narcissistic to me (and probably involves therapy, which I generally have a negative perception of). I tend to lean towards stoicism. Thinking about my "traumas" or "who I truly am" has never done me any good. It doesn't change that these things happened and just shifts my...

    Mitchell Mesenbrink interview

Been through this several different times in my life, mostly with athletics, then education, but most recently with financial goals/benchmarks. I accomplished this thing I was consumed with for an extended period, finishing didn't really change anything (and the "feeling" was meh and fleeting)...

AJ Ferrari reportedly in trouble again (6/27/26)

Oh, he's absolutely "insurable". Technically everyone is, including "uninsurable" (by the standard market), they just have to use a high-risk insurer or state-mandated pool. With his record - along with age/sex and the type of vehicle - the premium has got to be astronomical. Whether he is...

    Non-PSU Recruiting

With transfer madness it is all but impossible to even define what "progress towards a degree" is, let alone to measure it for each individual player. There are guys who are in their 6th,7th, and even 8th years of eligibility, check what degrees they have - but magically they've never been...

Five in Five - What Might That Look Like?

+1 I know dozens of BYU (or committed to BYU) football players who went on missions. They got just as much "p-day" time as everyone else. Their allowed "training" was pickup basketball once a week at the local church and maybe some pushups first thing in the morning. Religious service may become...

Thiago Silva is pretty much John Smith in Brazil. The most famous one is the soccer player. I also happen to have a friend with the name; similarly, no relation to the former MMA fighter (or soccer player).

    '26 Final X, 6/19, thread

Thanks for the play-by-play. I definitely did not have Dake and Green as world team members on my bingo card. Great to hear that Blaze was more aggressive in the 3rd match and pulled it out. I've been a pretty vocal critic of his chances in this historically stacked weight class for the U.S; the...

    PSU Recruiting Thread

I don't necessarily see Sanchez coming to PSU, but I also wouldn't assume him and Sidun overlap. He went from 106 to 112 (U17 last year) to 120, still has 2yrs of high school left. He also looks, right now, to be a lot longer than Sidun. I'm not sure he's a college 125.

    PSU Recruiting Thread

Here in Utah, a handful of schools have traded spots literally buying all the top athletes in the state. Was Corner Canyon for a while and now it's Orem. All depends on who has the best current infrastructure to hook the kids up with NIL. It's almost unheard of now for a high school athlete with...
