BB: summer recruiting, practice, and Trent Noah updates

Zoom Diallo is quite a bit bigger and stronger (appearing anyway) than I thought. His size and movement reminds me of Aberdean but with the addition of much better PG skills and feel for the position. He’s not going to be as quick and flashy as a healthy Lowe would have been last season, but I...

Mason Williams (the guy some of you said will not play)

I have a theory about Mason Williams developed from his shooting stats, but much more particularly from watching his videos. I’m guessing Mason was born with a high talent for shooting touch. What I mean by that is a gifted ability to judge distance and adjust his push of the ball to meet that...

Of the basketball Cats that left

If healthy, I might go with Jaland Lowe on this one. I think he has more potential than any of the others to become a focal point and a difficult problem for other teams to deal with. Really, I can see all of those players having some good success, but again I think Lowe has the most potential...

BB Ryan Hampton making announcement Sunday …

Did Osaruyi reclassify up a grade already? Regardless, I think it’s probably good that rosters have expanded to 15. That allows you to stash a reclassification kid (or even two) – and it looks like reclassification will become the thing with the money now available – who are not really going to...

    Been some rumblings

The injury point is obviously valid, despite the fact that Kepnang apparently never gives up and keeps coming back and playing hard. But he was starting before and now he’s generally only going to be playing limited minutes. I can’t prove it scientifically, but it seems like less minutes would...

    M&M’s for lunch

Same for me, but I don't have a twitter/X account so I figure that is why I had the issue.

    Arkansas Summer League

My unpopular opinion is that Calipari actually overperformed with some of his rosters. All the “talent” in the world is not going to get it done if that talent hasn’t ripened into being some of the best most efficient and impactful basketball players and leaders in CBB – and Calipari didn’t have...

Something that I hate hearing in the Pope Era

I think he was 2nd team All-Conference. But I didn't look it up so I might very well be incorrect.

Something that I hate hearing in the Pope Era

They can if they're upperclassmen. It's why the transfer portal has been so transformative. But by the same token, NIL has made it very attractive for high school juniors and European 17-year-old to "re-classify." You're just not going to get much positive production from those kids.

    Goodbye to standard time

Do kids still ride buses? I mean back in the day we all rode the school bus unless your mother was a teacher - and even then if your teacher mother lived in the community you probably rode the bus because you preferred it. But these days it seems helicopter parents (is that the right term?)...

    Goodbye to standard time

I've thought the standard and daylight savings times should actually be flipped so that we get more daylight in the Winter but less in the Summer (we'd still be getting daylight up until 8-8:30 pm).

Top 10 NIL valuations for 2026

Jeremiah Smith the Wide Receiver at Ohio State? He's listed at $5M in the posted list.

    Good for the soul

The other guy was acting surprised but I don’t think Mashburn was trying to be controversial, do you? I think it was his honest projection-based opinion. He’s talking about long-term. The college production and NBA ceilings of those players are completely different conversations. Cooper Flagg...

    Spears to Texas!

For those really wanting UK to land this kid maybe it’s still possible. He has to play 2 years, right? Let’s say next season Miller’s primary goal is winning and Spears backs up David Punch (as he likely will) or even shares time with another backup PF option and is played mostly for development...
