When my wife was pregnant with twins our rural hospital told us if complications arise we would have to go to Omaha. I made them change it to Des Moines. No child of mine will ever be born in Nebraska.
Personally I'd rather have 11 teams with Nebraska out than 12 teams with Nebraska in. Nebraska can lose every game in every sport for the rest of my life as far as I care.
From a distance "fan basis" has a real chance of being a new WOB species. However you are right, until it is captured and tagged there's no way of knowing if it's a true WOB or a simple spelling mistake.
