What made him the best coach available? Getting fired by the Panthers? One decent season at Baylor where he didn't beat a single ranked team and played a non-conference schedule of UTSA, Rice, and Stephen F Austin?
I don't know much about him, but Jason Eck at New Mexico - his career trajectory seems very similar to Cignetti before Indiana. Only younger.
If he has another good season at New Mexico and Wisconsin fires Fickell, I'm sure the Badgers will pursue him.
