    7 in 25 (and actually 8 since the COVID team was a lock), so 1/3 of the time. Sha is 0-4 thus far, mainly because of portal players leaving. Jabbar was a unicorn. Starting P4 teams are getting FU money.

    Didn’t miss it…I pointed to NIL in my post as one of three reasons why. We were at a disadvantage in the previous system but, on occasion, had very good recruiting classes that the coach could retain and develop. That path no longer exists for mid-majors.

    I would agree that back in the day, with the small field and regional set up, UCLA had an unfair advantage and it limited the shear number of participants. But it wasn’t March Madness then either. It’s obvious that the P4 schools are running things. Between NIL, immediate transfer and expansion...

    The only boycott that has ever been successful was the Bud Light Dylan Mulvaney fiasco. Bud Light sales never rebounded. There is too much gambling and media hype for any boycott to matter. Most casual fans have no idea what NIL or the portal means. it’s a zero sum game for me. If some idiot...

    But you’re talking about three programs that have the money to match top offers. We can’t nor will we ever have the money to do that. Even with those programs, these kids are exceptions.

    Playing time doesn’t matter. These kids are going to jump schools every year to get the best deal. And the better their stats the more they will get. It’s a no win situation for the school.

    He’s absolutely leaving for the money. If he played 30 mpg and put up double double numbers, he’d leave for even more money. And I don’t blame him.
