    Beaver went to Memphis after Brent Smith came to state to walk on. Beaver wasn't skipped for JMM. John Skelton tried to walk on at State with about 6 others. None were ready and Coach Grant ran them to death until they quit. JWS was a great special teams coach.

    If anyone thinks that a below average kicker being benched was Crooms biggest problem, you should be on his staff the next time he assembles one. Andrews wanked a 30 yarder that would have prevented the Maine loss. Dont get me wrong, Carlson sucked too, but Andrews wasn't the solution.

    There is no excuse for missing that FG or the XP (which was his fault) - it was a line drive. If MSU doesnt have a kicker that is performing better than him, he is on the field as the best option. WHICH IS SAD. ONE MORE BIG THING... HS PERFORMANCES DONT MEAN ANYTHING, NEVER HAVE, NEVER WILL...

    I think that we need to recruit a junior college kicker. We cannot keep letting these terrible kickers walk onto the field and take their scholarship for granted. Look back at the last 5 kickers. Horrible ones: Carlson, Andrews, and John "the helicopter kicker" Marlin - all were high school...
