    Just lost power

Been out of power in Holmdel for 16 hours now. What sucks is that it's just my immediate neighborhood, and everyone around us has power. Which means we are a small group of customers without power, so we might not be given high priority to come back online. Might have to dig that power...

    OT: LadyRU09’s Mother has Passed

My wife went through the Bachelor's program for Dietetics at Rutgers (2nd career) and just got her Master's at the College of Saint Elizabeth. She thought the world of Barbara Tangel, always gave great advice. I just told her and she was shocked - she said she just saw her last year at a...

    Semi-OT: Matt Canada to Maryland?

Surprised no one pointed out the following - Ash is looking for stability at the OC position (eg, someone who can stay for more than one season.) Would he take a risk on such a "well-traveled" OC such as Matt Canada? Is an OC who was with 6 different teams in 8 seasons going to end the 9 OCs...

    OT: The Leftovers

I find the music (eg, the solo piano, and variations there-of) to be so haunting and sad. It's great! Series is good, too. If you don't know the music, it's here:

OT: looking for a new computer

Coming to this thread late, and was surprised to see how long it took people to recommend the Mac-mini. If you're coming from a PC, you already have the monitor/keyboard/mouse, and can plug in a MacMini for $500, and add a Mac SuperDrive (CD) for an extra $79. You don't have the shell-shock of...

    Seattle! Trip and Game Thoughts

Patrick, Have to agree on Glacier Park - I love that place! If you have time, it's also nice to visit the Canadian counterpart to Glacier - Waterton Lakes. You can take a boat ride on the lake from the Canadian side to the American side, and get your passport stamped by the ranger at the Goat...

    Legends Sports Bar in Roxbury

I think I'll be heading to Legends. Miami Mikes also sounds good, but Legends is closer to my Dad, and I was going to pick him to watch the game. It's his 80th birthday on game day - I'll suggest an RU win as a nice birthday wish...

    Roll Call for Miami Mike's

Just out of curiosity, can you watch the game a la carte, or do you need to do the $25 brunch? My dad (a long-time RU fan/season ticket holder) is turning 80 tomorrow, and we want to watch the game, and then go for a nice dinner afterward with the family. So, not sure if the bottomless buffett...

Just started watching The Night Of...

Didn't see anyone mention it - I like the opening titles music! (Of course, I like classical music...) It does seem odd that they chose an all strings piece, you would think they would pick grittier music, or music with a Muslim/Pakistani motif. Show is great, moves at a slower pace, but...

OT: Driving from CNJ to JFK

Took a flight out of JFK to Punta Cana a month ago for a vacation. I live in Holmdel (which is also Monmouth county), and flew out at a similar time (but on a Sunday morning.) You should be at the airport 2 hours before the flight, and at that time, allow 1.5 hours to drive/park.So 5am is...
