This board is boring without Nepsey

We could always dig up the Purnell Swett guy or troll the shelby guys to liven things up lol

    Richmond at West Forsyth

To bad the Raider Nation crowd has stopped being so active in this forum or this could be a lively discussion with history involved with these two programs. I'll take the Raiders with a big upset road win with the help of a late game turnover.

    Richmond vs Scotland

A lot of young coaches on the staff. Young coaches are like young players, they take time to mature and develop into their full potential. They have some good resources to help them with their development like Dale Denson and James Johnson. Both have a ton of experience in coaching and the...

    HS Portal

It just absolutely blows my mind that people uproot their family to move so that a kid can play a sport at a certain high school. I know i am growing into my grumpy old man role but still. And I already know the responses "doing it for the kid", "providing the best opportunity.." blah, blah...

    The Same Ole, Same Ole

Follow up to previous post. Think about it, 10 years ago if you would have said there would be discussion on any team from Greensboro or the Raleigh area being major players in the state championship pictures you would have been laughed off the forums. Mecklenburg County had a death grip on the...

    The Same Ole, Same Ole

We all know high school football runs in cycles. All of these complaints, gripes and issues were said about the previous kings of the mountain. From Havelock, New Bern, Indy, Mallard Creek and so on all had periods where everybody was playing for 2nd and hoping for an answered prayer. Teams that...

    Independence vs Richmond 3rd Rd

Funny seeing the roles reverse in this day and time. Richmond averages more passing yards than Indy while Indy has more rushing yards. This is definitely not the 80's and 90's anymore lol. Should be a great game.

    Playoffs

"Law makers tied the hands of the NCHSAA when they made it a law that each classification could only have 64 teams in it."..... the reason why legislators have no business being involved. Why are all sports lumped together and forced to follow 1 format? Why are the admin numbers not done...

    Is it me???? or what???

Watching the pro and college games this weekend made me realize another contributing factor to the decline of quality. Too much specialization. "He is a slot receiver" "he is a cover guy not a run stopper" "third down back", "pass rusher"....how about we get back to making and coaching Football...

    Is it me???? or what???

Throw in up grading facilities into that mix as well. There is no excuse for some of the facilities some kids have to endure at their schools. All professions need the right tools and supplements to be efficient and successful.

    Is it me???? or what???

Great points by all and i agree. Seems to be more flash over substance. Pro football, offense wise is completely about the Jimmy's and Joe's it is soooo vanilla every team runs the same stuff, same formations and same schemes. Defensively there is still some creativity. College is turning that...

    Is it me???? or what???

Is it me or does it seem like a decline in the quality of football at all levels? Special teams break downs, bad leverage, poor gap discipline, shanks, drops, throws in the dirt, over throws, bad situational awareness..... the list goes on and on. Maybe i am just growing comfortably into the...

    Scotland County football?

Richmond is fighting hard not to fall down the economic pit that has sucked in Marlboro, Anson, and trying to get Scotland. Richmond does have a few industries left although they are a shell of what they use to be. But just like the other schools listed Richmonds numbers have been slowly...
