    I was just thinking about how similar this game was to last year's opener. It is a fair comparison. But, Dane just looked better. Same yardage, sure. But it took him 20 less pass attempts today. He is better.

    The guy who played QB today? I would not have recognized him at all if his name was not on the jersey. Below average QB? I suppose it is all relative. But the QB today is better than the guy last year by a mile...or at least 424 yards.

    Perhaps he just needs one decent March. Doesn't every kid want a deep NCAA run? I think he can probably recruit just fine; however, his body of work suggests to recruits that a deep March run is not in the cards. This is his year to change that. If he does, maybe we really got something good here.

    I really, really hate to be negative. But, I have to agree. College sports just kinda suck nowadays. It makes no sense. The athletes and coverage have never been better. Interest is at an all time high. I suppose with better coverage there are more opportunities to make money. And money can ruin...
