    It was 1993. Sherron had a bad ending to his IU career, getting kicked off the team junior year for assaulting his girlfriend.

    Even more amazing is Big Ten schools have lost the title game 8 times in a row since Sparty won in 2000. 8 times the bridesmaid: IU-2002, Illinois-2005, OSU-2007, MSU-2009, Michigan-2013, Wisconsin-2015, Michigan again-2018, Purdue-2024.

    Coach Cal Replacements

    Yes-you are correct on the NBA coach theory-look at Woodson at IU or Ewing at Georgetown, Juwan Howard, etc... It never works.

    Did they have Rasheed Wallace at that point in the season? They were a good team, but became great when they acquired him.

    It really hurt IU as well that Knight was so bitter after his firing and did everything he could to payback his former school. The best example is convincing Sean May not to go to IU (he was a lock before Bobby got fired). Knight wanted him at Texas Tech, but he chose UNC as a compromise...

    #1 Purdue and #2 Houston lost, who do #3, #4 and #5 play next?

    If all of them lost, I'd bet the rankings stay the same as this week. I'm pretty sure something like that happened a few years ago where the top 5 or 6 all lost on the same day/weekend.

    We IU fans like to joke that they win the November National Championship every year. Like clockwork, they go down as soon as the calendar turns.
