    I'm not saying its the best spot for him to start, but for his development. He may never start, but sitting a year at Oregon will probably be a positive if he works his tail off.

    Ive been on the record saying its the absolute best spot for him and was the right thing to do. That doesn't mean he didn't try to renegotiate Louisville higher as they had agreed in principle to a deal.

    No. I didnt' see that but no surprise. Guys like him get replaced with NIL. I remember arguing with the local morons on this board that he was a terrible recruiter. Some how they felt that because he brought in 4 stars he was great...even if they didnt fit the system at all.

    He was a horrible recruiter with Matt Abdelmassih. Horrible. Matt recruited individual stars that didn’t fit the system. It was justified to want to fire him then- but Fred adjusted his staff and the results are clear.

    Perhaps. But he had a system and structure in place to support assistants. They may very well have been good but his system made them better. But certainly, per you point, it seems like saban knew what traits he wanted his assistants to have .

    My numbers are bad? I never said his average total compensation, I said his future compensation. He reaches $12.5MM. He was extended 2 years at that same $12.5MM. Thats insane to me.
