    Retirement question

I mean, it depends on the person you're hearing from. His lessons are for people who have no idea how to manage money on an elementary basis. And he has now turned his "advice" into a huge money-maker that is borderline predatory and uses religious channels as his marketing arm. There are...

    AI or AOC

AOC is objectively attractive. Y'all need to cut back on the political consumption and just look at GIFs.

    Lawn mowing advice

You'll get less busy in about 12-15 years. I know it doesn't seem like it, but once they're driving, you find yourself with some of that free time back.

    Lawn mowing advice

I mowed my yard for 20 years, and then got tired of doing it. I take care of all of my hedges, trees, etc., and I have a healthy garden from Mother's Day to end of October, but mowing sucks. That is all.

    Retirement question

Ramsey was decent 15-20 years ago when he was focused on browbeating financially illiterate people to get out of debt and learn to save in talk radio format to the delight of listeners. Like most businesses, the product suffered when he needed to "scale" to grow his hick financial empire. He...

Will Dabo get his LB back?....

This. I would be DELIGHTED to see this type of innovative approach to our program. There are literally no enforceable rules. Why are we holding ourselves to some standard that doesn't produce wins? There's no "right way" in college football, never has been. But sure as heck isn't now.

Ole Miss isn't being completely truthful with their enrollment growth

Thanks for the link; I was way off for 2025. I'm interested to see what the 2026 numbers are.

Ole Miss isn't being completely truthful with their enrollment growth

I would estimate that there are about 1,000-2,000 active permits for 2,500+ sf single family homes in Lafayette County right now, so not for students or apartments. My friends in town describe the permanent resident influx as being retirement people first, regional people second, and second home...

    OT: Nvidia/AI/Tech Exposure

I'm with you on not knowing what to do next beyond holding serve. RE: Precious Metals- I didn't go in for the gold buy although I certainly wanted to. I emotionally hedged with silver during its run-up, getting it at about $78. So, a bust right now but I didn't let it go and we'll see. I've...

    OT: Nvidia/AI/Tech Exposure

Posted this in the wrong thread, but it's about defensive stocks, so- I got defensive one year ago because I hated all of the market chop from AI and the admin juicing the market with the tariff BS. I positioned equally in UHC (bingo), PM and UPS for the dividends. I figured that since they are...

    Retirement question

I got defensive one year ago because I hated all of this market chop from AI and the admin juicing the market with the tariff BS. I positioned equally in UHC (bingo), PM and UPS for the dividends. I figured that since they are all decent recession plays, I'd be okay. Combined with VIG, it's...

Ole Miss isn't being completely truthful with their enrollment growth

All of this housing that Xeno listed are SF homes. The retirement movers are still coming from all around the region and that will continue unabated for a while. 2nd home people are a real thing, but I don't think that will entirely hollow out that market.

Ole Miss isn't being completely truthful with their enrollment growth

This is the problem with State though. You need to have someone on the inside to do what should be standard. My son's a sophomore now, and was aggressively pursuing scholarships to add to what he had going in as a Freshman. You'd be amazed how little assistance he received from the School of...

    OT: Nvidia/AI/Tech Exposure

I've been in VIG, which has exposure to Broadcom and Apple, but stays away from NVDA and ones that don't have higher dividends. It's been fine.
