    Looming Rail Strike

Yeah sorry the sarcasm wasn't called for on my end. That 2nd one I shared was written by Aaron Gordon, he did an amazing job covering NYC transportation issues for a long time. He's great.

    Looming Rail Strike

This article is actually about the labor conditions, it's very good - https://www.vice.com/en/article/5dgezn/the-worst-and-most-egregious-attendance-policy-is-pushing-railroad-workers-to-the-brink

    Looming Rail Strike

You can "risk it and call BS" or you could read literally anything that's been written on this topic in the last year. https://www.vice.com/en/article/3angy3/freight-rail-train-disaster-avoidable-boeing

OT- Update on the Jackson water situation

Memphis also has a separated sewer/stormwater system, which is a huge advantage during massive storms.

    Governor's Cup question

One could also reconfigure Veterans Memorial Stadium for baseball, if one wanted tens of thousands of State and Ole Miss fans to have a godawful experience.

    The Silver Lining

I don't know how you can be so sour about it all, I mean, y'all have so much to celebrate, like that really neat mural on the Shipley's.

    The Silver Lining

I think it's cool, tbh. Southern Miss hosted Supers, State and OM are national title winners. Extremely good for the state of Mississippi. State winning last year doesn't make OM winning this year any less special, and vice versa.

    Oklahoma state’s stadium

That's their basketball arena in the end zone, Gallagher-Iba. For some reason, they built up the new structure before demolishing the old one.

    Candidates -

I'm not sure I agree with your police work there, Lou. https://www.al.com/sports/2020/01/louisiana-football-coach-billy-napier-gets-2-year-contract-extension.html

OT: it’s that time of the month. Let’s discuss bourbons

Blanton's is on allocation, has been for a couple years. It's not easy to get anymore in most places. And the price has gone up. I see it for $80 from time to time, and it's just not an $80 bourbon.

The rather large celebration over a man losing his job has me pondering a couple

Come on. There's no equivalence here. Coach34 is unique in that a) he put his real name out there, went on radio shows as himself, b) he said **** that was objectively horrible outside of the rivalry. He talked about not delivering mail to his athletes from universities he didn't like. He posted...

    OT - Toyota 4 Runner

I've never owned one and never will, but everybody I've ever known who's owned one has had phenomenal experiences. The 4-Runner is to SUV's what the Accord is to sedans. Do your usual maintenance, and it'll last forever.

My experience at Alex Box Stadium on Saturday

I couldn't agree with you more about their baseball fans being completely different than their football fans. I went to an OM-LSU series wearing an OM shirt a few years back, and they were surprisingly hospitable. I kind of think that SEC baseball fans in general are more laid back than...

OT: Andrew Jackdon being dropped from the $20

Grace Hopper would be a great one. We should rotate the images on our currency more often imo. I'd love to see fewer presidents and more people who did awesome stuff. Would love to see the crew of Apollo 11 on our money. Nice reminder of some of the amazing feats we've accomplished.

OT: Question to you engineering folks

Oh, I was picking on coach66 for being a software engineer rather than a hard-sciences engineer. I think electrical is a good field to go into right now. All of the electrical engineers I know are doing really well, and enjoy themselves. I think chemical engineering can get a little abstract.
