    It's an era of absolute free agency. It used to take years to turn around a program.

    It's a completely different universe with the transfer portal. The eras are incomparable. At a school like UK it's possible to build a contender overnight.

    Eh. It seems the more powerful and wealthy you are the thinner your skin is by and large. Also that applies regardless of political affiliation and our current occupant of the white house isn't exactly one to accept criticism with a sense of humor.

    This is what I can't believe is not morbidly depressing to 99.9% of UK fans. That THIS is where we are. (And I know you @bigblueinsanity are not one of the delusional ones. I was just using your realistic assessment as a jumping off point.) Being severely undermanned at UK is unacceptable.

    With the portal and energy/excitement that automatically accompanies the first year of a new era at UK, any competent new coach who can recruit should be able to build a competitive roster quickly.

    On one end of the spectrum you would have say Pat Riley in his prime. A man that would "own" whatever room he was in. Pope would be on the complete opposite end of that spectrum - a goofy, loveable doofus. That is who he is no matter how much some on this board would wish it to be different.

    I've heard it said before that if you don't know who the mark is at the poker table, then you're the mark. We have an actual Mark and he is the literal mark at every poker table he sits down at. This is 100% on Barnhart. Not doing his due diligence again, just like he didn't do his due diligence...
