My Breakdown of what 8 Classes Could be if they'd quit playing around

They can't hardly fine anyone for anything without Sen. McInnis and his band of cronies sticking their nose into it. Concerning realignment, last week representatives of the NCHSAA came to the NCADA conference and gave the athletic directors a problem to solve. Each county was given a list of...

    Penalties

And therein lies the problem. Only 1 out of 10 new officials lasts more than 3 years. Abuse, both verbal and physical, is out of control. Kids graduating HS have no interest in officiating. They see how fans and coaches abuse officials and have no interest in it. Why would they? Yes, there are...

New HS free throw rules--no more one-and-one

    Great change! Less FTs!

    Eastern Alamance @ Reidsville

Sorry partner but that's an NCAA rule. In HS, the pass doesn't have to be catchable.

    Shelby @ Hibriten

Unfortunately we're required to be. Believe me guys, officials do not won't to be the fashion police. But the NCHSAA is all over us about it.

Happy New Year all! I'll crawl back under my rock now. But I can be found on the Ask the Ref forum for those with legit questions and discussion. Peace.

Could There Be A Referee Problem in The NCHSAA ???

Coach, the crew that told you that you couldn't buy the player back into the game was correct. But I understand your frustration. I had an official grant a timeout to a coach one night for that reason. We got everyone back on the field and I didn't charge him the timeout. It's a rule that gets...

Could There Be A Referee Problem in The NCHSAA ???

That's okay. I didn't expect much and I didn't get much. I don't live my life on these forums. I pop in once in a while and help out when I'm needed. It really doesn't matter whether I replied to your post the next day or a month later, my reply was valid and true. I'll leave you to your...

Thanks partner. Doing well. Trying to stay safe like everyone else. Hope you are too.

Could There Be A Referee Problem in The NCHSAA ???

Let me get this straight? You determined that the officials were terrible, yet you weren't even at the game to see it for yourself? Wow. You're so naïve and lack so much knowledge based on what you just posted. Here's a few things for you to consider. There are no greater homers in the world...

    Burns at Hendersonville

The closest official isn't responsible for the call. The lineman, line judge and back judge each have a key on every pass play. If the LJ has the WR and the BJ has the TE, the WR-DB matchup belongs to the LJ no matter where they go.

    Burns at Hendersonville

The back judge and the line judge count the defense on every play. The referee and the umpire count the offense on every play. Which sideline has nothing to do with it.
