    Dwight Powell has been at Dallas for a decade. Like Williams, he was a pretty a good passer and rebounder for his size. Williams was a bit more efficient shooting. If there is a spot for Powell, there can be a spot for Williams on a NBA roster.

    He is pushing 7' tall, can pass, and is an elite defensive rebounder. That combination of skills is not common.

    We have many talented players. The question is how many will play at a star level. That’s what is keeping us out of the top 5 in these preseason rankings. The pundits believe our top 2 or 3 players collectively won’t be as good as the teams ahead of us.

    We might lose some three point shooting as a team and passing from the 5. Amari's ability to pass from the 5 is rare. But in exchange, we get better on the offensive glass and finishing around the rim. If we take care of the ball as well as we did last year, we should be in good shape offensively.

    Mo is valid. I picked Jelavic not necessarily because I think he is better, but rather because his skills are in line with what Pope prefers from his front court. Plus, Mo might be a better complement to Garrison. Mo can cover some of Garrison’s rebounding deficiencies.

    To your point, we were ranked in the preseason top 5 after winning the championship in 2012.

    Seems like they don't rate our top 5 players as highly as other teams. If basketball required 7 or 8 players on the court for each team, we'd be ranked closer to the top.

    To me, it feels like he will stick with the draft. I could be influenced by the Cal years, but that’s the vibe I’m getting. I have no inside info or any superior rationalization.

    The vast majority of the incidents presented as dubious foul calls in SGA’s favor are actually fouls. When it comes to notorious foul merchants/floppers, he doesn’t seem any worse than any other ball dominant star.
